Gratitude and Its Importance in our daily lives By Kartika Nair

Gratitude is the feeling of love when you are truly appreciative of things, people and experiences in your life. It is a very powerful emotional state that can instantly change your life around. Invite yourself to truly feel grateful for every tiny and big element in your life, be it your unique body, mind, spirit, all the tiny and big material things in your life, the people and experiences you have experienced, are experiencing now, and will experience in the future.
Feeling grateful for everything you have, creates a powerful wave of positive energy that attracts a lot of more things to be grateful for into your life. Being grateful shifts your attitude towards life instantly by showing you how truly gifted and blessed you are and how truly magical life is.
Scientific research has charted out the physical benefits of daily gratitude, extending to an increase in the body’s immune system, greater physical relaxation, lowered blood pressure, immediate increase in endorphin levels, increased longevity, and improved sleep.
Gratitude creates a positive and healthy mind. The more you see the good in everything, the more good will come to you. Gratitude is a great stress buster, it increases self esteem, it increases productivity, resilience, helps you cope with life’s difficult times and gives you a healthier and positive personality.
On an emotional front, gratitude brings about instant feelings of love, bliss, blessedness, connection to the divine, self love, love for others, and most of all brings you instant and long lasting feelings of happiness. Starting and ending your day in silent expression of gratitude can tremendously shift your experience of the day, and your life, and help you better handle on your emotional and mental states when you are upset.
Spiritually, gratitude keeps you constantly connected to source consciousness/universal power, and to your higher self. A powerful way to attract positive experiences into your life is to simply feel grateful for the experiences you want to have as though they have already happened. The law of attraction is fuelled and quickened by the immense power and force of gratitude.
To practice gratitude, simply take a sheet of paper, and list out everything you have in your life, from your clothes, to your food, your breath, your functional body, your friends, your family, your hands and feet, your eyes, your bed sheet, your room, your chair, your computer, your memories, your travels, and EVERYTHING small and big that you have, and as you write these down, realise the immense value that each of these things have in your life, and truly and deeply feel the gratitude and love in your heart by writing “Thank you for …”, or “I am truly and deeply grateful for ….”. Remember, the key is to really feel the feelings of gratitude instead of simply saying it without feeling it. As you do this daily, watch your life transform into a life filled with magic, joy and infinite blessings.
In the course of our journey together, I will be helping you tapinto this infinite power of gratitude in a one day workshop, where I will guide you to connect deeply with yourself and the healing power of gratitude.
My question to you today is, is the glass half empty, or is it actually overflowing with so many big and tiny blessings? The choice always lies with you, choose wisely! Remember, you create what you focus on. Wishing you a day filled with love and gratitude.
